In June 2023, we presented a briefing session at Footprint +, the UK property event for a zero carbon future.
Titled, Countdown to Zero, we debated how to tackle the main obstacles to achieving decarbonisation. The output of our conference session is now available to register for and download below.
Expert views based on delegate survey
Based on a survey of delegates at Footprint +, we delivered a countdown of the top 10 perceived obstacles to achieving decarbonisation.
We debated some of the biggest themes and explored how to overcome these obstacles with our expert panel comprising: Josh Bullard and Sadaf Askari from Hydrock; Kelly Crews from Willmott Dixon; Sonia Parol from Inspired Villages; and Mario Lara Ledermann from Lendlease.
Illustrating the debate and practical tips offered by the panel, Hydrock's Josh Bullard advocated the importance of shifting away from assessing carbon metrics to look at energy-use intensity. Mario Lara Ledermann from Lendlease explored how the whole industry needs to align to scale and transform niche solutions to a new normal, and Kelly Crews from Willmott Dixon offered an alternative view on how to approach the 'fastest finger first' challenge of securing publicly available funds for decarbonisation.
