Associate / Associate Director - Mechanical
We have a brand-new opportunity for an Associate/Associate Director (Mechanical) to join our MEP division based in our London office.
It's an exciting time to join our MEP team! We have a proven track record working within London, working on projects in the defence, data centre, healthcare and heritage/refurbishment sectors. Our team of 40 engineers, graduates and apprentices continues to grow and we have ambitious plans to expand the sectors we work in and our early careers training programme. As a leader within the team you will be benefit from the expertise of our 150 person London office spanning 10 disciplines and our well established local relationships. Our office has great travel links and is walking distance from Southwark, London Bridge and Borough train stations.
Your role will include:
This is a varied role made up of managing our 12 person strong mechanical team, client engagement, work winning and project management. Other responsibilities include:
- Be a pro-active member of the MEP leadership team, overseeing the day to day running of the mechanical team and managing multidisciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
- Maintain and develop external relationships with clients and take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects including negotiating additional fees and facilitating new & continued work.
- Act as a role model within the MEP team, ensuring projects are delivered to a ‘right-first-time’ approach, ensuring appropriate quality management procedures are in place and are adhered to.
Our Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) division:
Our MEP team are specialists in energy, sustainability, and engineering design. We bring buildings to life and create award winning, high-performance environments that enhance the built environment – working across all sectors including commercial, industrial, leisure, retail, manufacturing, logistics, heritage and residential.

- Building performance modelling
- Building performance optimisation
- Carbon verification and validation strategies
- Daylight and sunlight studies
- Net-Zero strategy
- Sustainability benchmarking and environmental assessments
- Sustainable master planning
- Strategic utility management services

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Relevant qualification at HNC, HND, Bachelors or Masters and have chartered status.
- Proven Mechanical Associate/Associate Director with a strong track record of managing UK projects across a variety of building services, ensuring they are profitable, delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Experienced team manager, including recruitment, well-being, performance, management and development.
- Ability to win work and undertake business operations including marketing, commercial and financial responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills and confident working with a variety of key stakeholders including manufacturers, architects and contractors.
- Sound knowledge of BIM processes, Revit and IES/Amtech.
