MEP Director (Higher Education)
We have an excellent opportunity for a National MEP Director specialising in higher education to join our successful and engaged team of building services professionals. This is an influential and strategic role, working with our MEP teams across the UK to grow and develop the higher education/life sciences offering. Our Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) division:
Our MEP team are specialists in energy, sustainability, and engineering design. We bring buildings to life and create award winning, high-performance environments that enhance the built environment – working across all sectors including commercial, industrial, leisure, retail, manufacturing, logistics, heritage and residential.
Our work includes:
- Building performance modelling
- Building performance optimisation
- Carbon verification and validation strategies
- Daylight and sunlight studies
- Net-Zero strategy
- Sustainability benchmarking and environmental assessments
- Sustainable master planning
- Strategic utility management services

Your role will include:
- Take ownership for the Higher Education & Life Sciences sectors, working with our regional teams to develop client relationships and the Hydrock brand.
- Be our subject expert within the business, advising on projects as needed and taking the lead on client engagement.
- Work the divisional and regional directors to develop and implement strategic initiatives within the team and across the wider business.
- Drive profitable and sustainable work-winning and maintain up-to-date forecasting for the MEP team.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven track record working as a director (or experienced Associate Director) within engineering consultancy with a passion for working within either higher education and life sciences.
- Passionate about business development and client engagement.
- Self-motivated team leader with the ability to drive efficiencies and growth.
- Strong communication, analysis, and people skills.
