Two major schemes led by our Bristol and Plymouth structural engineering teams are short-listed in the high profile south-west Michelmores Property Awards.
Our work for City & Country at The General in Bristol (pictured above), and our work with BAM Construction and HLM Architects on One Research Way at Plymouth Science Park (pictured below) are short-listed for four awards in total in these awards which celebrate outstanding property and construction projects across Bristol, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall under the direction of leading south-west law firm, Michelmores.
The General is short-listed for Heritage Project of the Year and Commercial Project of the Year. One Research Way at Plymouth Science Park is also short-listed for Commercial Project of the Year and Building of the Year.
Speaking about these achievements, Jerry King, Hydrock’s director of structural engineering said: “This is a fantastic endorsement of the quality of work we have been engaged in and also recognises the collaborative spirit of the project teams we have worked within which ultimately is critical in delivering a positive outcome to a build programme.”
Emma Honey, Head of Property at Michelmores, said of the 2017 short-list: “Yet again, we have received an extremely high quality of entries, spread across many sectors. This year’s shortlist shows the south west property and construction industry as a real powerhouse of innovation, and is a signal of exciting times ahead.”
The awards ceremony is at the University of Exeter on 15th June and Hydrock will be strongly represented both in association with these projects and from across our south-west teams as a whole.
In addition, six schemes that Hydrock has contributed to are short-listed for a number of awards at the RICS south-west awards which will be held on 11 May. The projects listed (some in multiple categories) are: The General, One Research Way, Seaton Jurassic Visitor Centre, Wapping Wharf, Cotswolds Cats and Dogs Home and The Old Gymnasium at Marlborough College.
Further details are listed here for our work at The General and One Research Way.
