A hat-trick of award night successes

One of our flagship multi-disciplinary projects, the UK Hydrographic Office’s (UKHO) new headquarters has been awarded the RIBA South West Sustainability Award 2019, the RIBA South West Award 2019 and the RICS South West Commercial Property Award 2019. Our client, UKHO was also awarded Client of the Year at the RIBA South West awards.

Our civil, structural, M&E, acoustics, fire and transport engineering services were key to the delivery of this stunning new headquarters building for the UKHO in Taunton. The project will now go forward to the national finals of both awarding bodies later this year.

The RICS South West Awards night also saw Hydrock’s Mulberry Park Community Hub scoop the Community Benefit award. With its 8m span, eye-catching copper alloy clad cantilever, we delivered the structural engineering design for this award-winning community facility that supports a new 700-home development in Bath.

And the third in our hat-trick of award night successes, saw a win at the LABC South West Awards with Carluddon Technology Park, aka ESAM, taking Highly Commended in the “Best Large Commercial Project” category. This is another great example of multi-disciplinary engineering design delivered by our Devon and Cornwall teams. Hydrock delivered civil, structural, geotechnical and building services for this flagship BREEAM Excellent development of energy efficient workspaces for low carbon advanced manufacturing businesses.

The calibre of projects shortlisted in each of these award schemes was exceptional and are testament to the truly award-winning work that Hydrock’s engineering design teams deliver.
