Hydrock is delighted to welcome Tim King to lead the growth of our structural engineering team into London and the south east.
With a career spanning 28 years, Tim’s arrival follows a combined 20 years with Opus and WSP. He most recently acted as Regional Growth Director for WSP in the south west and Wales.
Tim joins Hydrock’s national structural engineering business, which has an established presence across UK cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff and Plymouth. He will develop our structural engineering offering in London and the south east, working with existing clients and developing new relationships to build on the success of projects such as New Covent Garden Market and English National Ballet.
With a strong emphasis on designing high quality architecture and environments, Tim has been involved in delivering projects including the recent £16m New Clinical Wards at QEH Hospital, Woolwich; Channel 4’s Big Brother House at Elstree Studios; Ashford International Station for Eurostar; and commercial regeneration in Covent Garden.
Commenting on the appointment, Jerry King, Director of Hydrock’s national structural engineering division, said: “We have been looking for the right person to lead the expansion of our team into London for some time. Tim’s cross-sector experience delivering strategic projects and his successful track record in business development makes him a great fit for the development of a London team.”
Tim said: “I’m delighted to have joined Hydrock. There is an existing strong track record of multi-disciplinary delivery and I look forward to both developing existing relationships, and building new partnerships. Contributing to Hydrock’s bigger strategic picture from a structural engineering perspective is a prospect I’m really looking forward to.”
