Hydrock has relocated its office in the Midlands from Blythe Valley Business Park near Solihull to Birmingham city centre.
With plans for expansion in 2019, the move to Edmund Street in the Colmore Business District of Birmingham puts our team at the heart of the property and construction community in Birmingham.
Director, Jon Bird, from Hydrock’s team in Birmingham said: “This is an exciting step-change for Hydrock in the Midlands. We have established a well-regarded team over the last 5 years, contributing our engineering design to projects across the region and now we’re ready to expand our multi-disciplinary service offering still further from a base at the heart of the city centre, working even more closely with our city centre-based clients.”
Hydrock’s team in Birmingham is headed up by Jon Bird who leads our civil and structural engineering team and Toby Faulconbridge who leads our building performance engineering business. Joining Jon and Toby in our new city centre office is the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Mike Yiannis who has strong business links with the city having been a Birmingham corporate financier for the last 23 years, most recently as MD of Odyssey.
Speaking about the region and Hydrock’s ambitions, Mike said: “Birmingham, and the overall Midlands economy, is growing faster than anywhere outside of London. There continues to be huge investment in office, commercial and residential projects, complemented by major infrastructure developments such as HS2, the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the airport expansion. This is the perfect time for our established Midlands team to put their roots down in the city centre. We are well-placed to offer the property development and investment market a fresh approach to engineering design, with pragmatic and commercial multi-disciplinary solutions that help clients unlock sites for development.”
Hydrock’s new city centre office is at 172 Edmund Street, Birmingham, B3 2HB.
