Hydrock has secured funding from Innovate UK to support a feasibility study into a cloud-based tool that will identify the most efficient route to decarbonise buildings.
Innovate UK is the UK’s national innovation agency, funded by central government. We secured this support through a funding stream allocated to a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI).
This particular competition is aimed at developing a data driven approach to assess and define pathways to upgrade and decarbonise non-domestic building portfolios. Its goal is to support initiatives that reduce energy demand, heat usage, and accelerate the shift to a net zero economy.
Sadaf Askari, an Associate at Hydrock specialising in carbon advisory services, said:
“This funding enables us to accelerate our own thinking and concepts around managing and analysing building data. It will help influence the investment decisions our clients make to decarbonise their estates.”
Hydrock's cloud-based platform will help building owners and portfolio managers to identify the optimised route to decarbonise their buildings based on their net zero targets, timeline, type of intervention, and capital expenditure.
The output will be a comprehensive dashboard with a clear menu of solutions, detailing costs, savings in terms of energy efficiency and carbon, and timescales.
Sadaf added:
“In the world of carbon and climate change, we are learning every day. This is precisely what Innovate UK is there to support, and our access to this funding will help us refine our market offer”
