We have appointed Michael Enstone as Divisional Director to lead our 130-strong national MEP team.
Based in London, Michael joins Hydrock from AECOM where he worked for 15 years on a wide range of major projects across London, the Home Counties and internationally. His sector experience includes commercial, energy, residential, public sector, retail and education projects.
Michael is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and is a strong advocate of supporting and guiding clients to create low energy and zero carbon buildings.
His career track record includes delivering the MEP design for three of the buildings that make up the Quadrant masterplan for The Crown Estate. This includes 7 Air Street, a BREEAM Outstanding low carbon office development that won Sustainable Project of the Year at the Building awards in 2016, and 21 Glasshouse Street, occupied by Apple.
Other career highlights include laboratory, research, teaching and student accommodation projects for Imperial College London; energy, sustainability and data centre projects for the Wellcome Trust at their Genome Campus; the Old War Office redevelopment to create Raffles-branded residences and a luxury hotel; and zero carbon schools for Surrey County Council and the Diocese of Westminster.
Speaking about Michael’s appointment, Scott Elliott, Hydrock’s Chief Operating Officer, said,
“We’re delighted to welcome Michael to Hydrock. With his experience of leading and shaping multi-disciplinary design teams, he is a perfect fit into our existing leadership structure which places a strong emphasis on the benefit of integrated design. His deep experience of the London market will also further strengthen our presence in and around London, where our specific regional based resource is now 75-strong.”
Commenting on his appointment, Michael said:
“I’ve had such a warm welcome to Hydrock from colleagues across the UK, it’s been such a positive experience. This is an important time for building services engineering. I’m driven by leading teams that take an active role at the earliest conceptual design stages, speaking up and influencing the whole design strategy so that we can create energy efficient, low carbon solutions that enable clients, investors and users to enjoy the benefit of highly sustainable, climate resilient buildings. I’m excited to get stuck into these opportunities at Hydrock and help our clients achieve and exceed their goals.”
