Senior VISSIM microsimulation modeller joins Hydrock’s transportation team
27th Feb 2019Lee Marks, an experienced transport modeller with particular expertise in VISSIM and Viswalk, has joined Hydrock in our Camborne office.
Lee joins to lead our specialist microsimulation modelling capability for clients on a range of projects from the small-scale, such as drive-thru takeaways, to large-scale, strategic highway networks.
Commenting on this appointment, Mark Rowe, who leads our Transportation team in Cornwall, said “We are delighted to have secured someone of Lee’s calibre to our team. Lee will be leading our Vissim microsimulation modelling capability for clients across the UK with our specialist team based in Camborne, Cornwall.
Developers and Local Highway Authorities alike, are increasingly recognising the value of Vissim microsimulation to provide detailed operational modelling for a variety of situations, including the modelling of strategic and sensitive corridors, traffic sensitive signals and pedestrian modelling.”
Lee has significant experience in providing professional transport consultancy services in highway design and in developing town and transport strategies. He joins Hydrock from CORMAC, the highways, engineering and construction specialist where he was a senior transport planning technician for the organisation which is owned by Cornwall Council. His experience includes undertaking feasibility studies, traffic modelling, public consultations and exhibitions and he has also led feasibility and planning modelling projects jointly led by Highways England.
