Short-listed for three NCE100 awards

Hydrock has been short-listed for three awards by New Civil Engineer in their 2017 NCE100 Companies of the Year Awards.

Now in its second year the NCE100 seek to recognise firms that are leading the way in areas that are critical to delivering for clients and making engineering workplaces a great place to be.

Hydrock is short-listed for three awards:

• Best Place to Work: for our company-wide activity events
• Talent Champion: for our investment in staff training
• Global Firm of the Year: for our support and skills training to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) following the Fukushima disaster in Japan.

In addition to our short-listing for these three awards, we have also qualified for a place in the NCE100, which recognises the best 100 companies across our diverse industry.

But there are organisations - consultants, contractors and clients - that truly stood out. We are delighted to be able to shortlist them for special recognition via our 14 award categories.”

Speaking about our short-listing, Brian McConnell, Hydrock’s Managing Director, said: “The NCE awards are some of the most high-profile in the industry, so we are thrilled to be short-listed in three categories. In particular, our listing for ‘Global Firm of the Year’ is testament to the work of Hydrock NMC Ltd in the application of their unique skills on a high-profile international project. Our entry reflects that although we do not have a global footprint, this is an example of where we are uniquely placed to advise an international client given our specific skills delivering British best practice for nuclear organisational design and safety standards.”

Before the awards, all finalists will attend face-to-face judging by members of a 33-strong jury made up of clients, contractors and consultants. The winners will be announced on 22 June 2017 at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
