We’re celebrating International Women In Engineering Day 2020 – remotely!
23rd Jun 2020This year’s International Women In Engineering Day – or INWED as it’s also known – inevitably looks a little different to our previous celebrations.
Instead of an event in-person, we invited some of the women working across our business to share what inspired them to take up a career in engineering, and what advice they might give to young women considering such a career. From physics to history degrees, jigsaws to communication skills, it might not be what you’d expect. If you know someone who might benefit from a little inspiration, take a look at what they had to say here:
And while engineering isn’t just working on a site with a hard hat, that’s certainly an available option too. Our Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant Sarah Hey made this video diary during her time working on a site in the north west, sharing the variety of tasks (and weather conditions) that an engineer might face.
