Alan joined Hydrock in 2021 to lead our MEP team in London. He’s a Chartered Electrical Engineer, with over 30 years’ experience managing and delivering multi-disciplinary projects both in the UK and internationally.
His key expertise lies within large complex projects, working closely with clients to understand their business needs and agree project strategies.
Alan has a thorough understanding of a wide range of sectors including performing arts, healthcare, aviation, rail, listed buildings, nuclear, data centres and hospitality. Notable achievements in the heritage sector include The Royal Opera House (Grade I listed) and The London Coliseum (Grade II listed).
He has a keen interest in sustainability, including designing to achieve carbon net zero and is a keen advocate of using technology in construction including the use of Building Information Modelling. He has been actively promoting the use of prefabrication and modern methods of construction for many years.
He places great emphasis on teamwork, working with carefully selected teams who are motivated to find imaginative solutions to unlock complex problems, leading to high levels of client satisfaction.
Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
