With a track record in the design of iconic high-end buildings, and a deep understanding of sustainability, Alessandro is a key member of our multi-disciplinary engineering team in London.
From concept to construction, Alessandro is experienced at working with leading architectural practices and major developers on complex, high-profile schemes. He advises on structural designs, sustainable materials, re-use and technical details.
With particular expertise in tall buildings and refurbishment of existing structures, his sector expertise includes commercial, residential, industrial, retail and hotels.
Alessandro has a deep understanding of timber structures and helps clients to recognise the opportunity to embrace sustainable solutions on their specific projects to reduce carbon impacts and improve energy efficiency.
His tall buildings experience includes The Spire, a proposed 65-storey, 235m tall residential tower in West India Quay; and One Barangaroo, a mixed-use, 71-storey residential, retail and five-star hotel scheme completed in 2021 in Sydney, Australia.
Alessandro’s career track record also includes Mayfair Park Residences, a residential development in the Mayfair Conservation Area to the east of Hyde Park. This included retaining a Grade II listed façade and the construction of a new nine-storey building with four additional basement levels. He was also involved in the redevelopment of the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London, a mixed-use masterplan to deliver public realm space, two hotels, a music venue, education facilities and commercial office space.
In addition, his career experience includes: Nova Victoria, a large mixed-use regeneration scheme in the heart of Victoria; the proposed refurbishment of the Hilton Olympia Hotel; the proposed refurbishment and extension of The Pentagon building on Chiswell Street, London with a two-storey, cross-laminated timber extension; Elephant Park MP5 H1, an 18-storey hybrid timber and steel commercial building in Elephant & Castle; and 75-77 Brook Street in Mayfair, London.
Alessandro has a Masters degree in civil engineering from the University of Florence and is a chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). He actively supports colleagues on their own journey to chartership, and provides formal support as a supervising civil engineer for the ICE and as a mentor.
