Gary Powell

As a deeply experienced real estate professional, Gary is well-versed in how ESG and social value impact the decision making of property investment companies, funds and lenders in the real estate sector.

Gary joined us from LSH where he was an Executive Director. In a career initially centred on building consultancy, he has also previously worked for Colliers International for 15 years as an Executive Director which included being Head of Client Services and also Building and Project Consultancy.

Gary has led teams delivering corporate sustainability and ESG strategies for organisations including Mayfair Capital/Swiss Life Asset Managers, Fiera Real Estate and Nuveen. His experience includes developing corporate ESG policies, shaping pathways to net zero and advising on how best to demonstrate social value.

At LSH he set up and chaired the sustainability and ESG committee, representing ESG on the company’s operational board.

Gary’s experience of leading consultancy teams has resulted in him developing a complete range of client services that has included cladding remediation, retrofit, EPCs and ESG strategy, and advising on growing market trends such as modern methods of construction.

Experienced in supporting real estate due diligence for M&A activity, Gary has broad sector expertise, including life sciences, logistics, heritage and commercial, and has also worked extensively with central and local government bodies such as Homes England.

Gary regularly attends and contributes to industry forums such as the Investment Property Forum. He is also an experienced presenter having spoken at RICS, CPD Foundation and Henry Stewart events.
