Sustaining Manchester with high-quality PRS homes
Strengthening the Ancoats area of Manchester with desirable PRS apartment-living space, as part of the high-profile Manchester Life Development Company transformation of former brownfield land.
Our second project with John Sisk & Son for Manchester Life, who are driving the sympathetic and sustainable redevelopment of Ancoats and New Islington into vibrant and inclusive communities.
Our role included initial ground investigation work to inform the subsequent design; civil and structural engineering design for the whole development; 3D co-ordination on the below ground services; and a building services design assurance role.
Smith’s Yard provides vital, well-located, high-quality rental accommodation to support the emergence of Ancoats as a desirable residential neighbourhood on the eastern edge of Manchester city centre.
In total, Smith’s Yard is a part eight-storey, part five-storey building comprising 199 residential units and four ground floor commercial units. The residential is split across one-bed, two-bed and three-bed apartments and a small number of town houses.
We have previously supported both John Sisk & Son and Manchester Life Development Company with the Cotton Field Wharf development, the first of four rental developments within Phase One of Manchester Life.
