Uniquely shaped 'just-in-time' facility for automotive sector
Reflecting just-in-time usage for parts supply to Nissan's assembly lines, our services design of a uniquely long industrial facility in Sunderland met the rapid build programme to get this site operational.
Designed specifically to provide automotive parts handling for Nissan’s Infiniti model, this 40,500 sq. m logistics facility was built to a very fast track programme in 33 weeks.
Our MEP team worked with Leeds-based KPP architects and contractors, GMI to deliver utilities infrastructure and the MEP services design for the development of this logistics building on a previously clear, un-developed site.
Vantec III has five portal frames with both level and dock level access doors and a fibre concrete suspended floor over 5,000 pre-cast concrete piles.
Our work included managing the diversion of a 66kV overhead line, the diversion of the Northumbrian Water truck main, an upgrade to an offsite primary substation, supporting the installation of a full sprinkler protection system and ensuring that the facility is an EPC B rated asset.
