Evolution of major retail and leisure destination
Our external lighting and MEP services design influenced a number of important development phases at White Rose, Landsec’s hugely popular retail and leisure destination to the south of Leeds.
Constructed in 1997 to meet demand in south Leeds, away from the city centre, White Rose is a major retail and leisure destination close to the M621 and M62 with good bus connections and 4,800 car parking spaces across eight car parks.
Acting for Landsec, the largest commercial property development and investment company in the UK, we delivered MEP services to support the evolution of White Rose.
In support of The Village, a 6,000 sq. m extension that opened in 2017, our work included external services and lighting for a large children’s outdoor play area within The Village, services to the shell design for the new cinema and six restaurant units, and lighting to enhance the car parks and entrance roads.
We also delivered the external lighting services to help create eye-catching colour movement on the outside of the 11-screen Cineworld cinema complex, and we advised on a major extension to an existing retail unit to double the floorspace having helped secure planning approval for the work.
